LONG DISTANCE

Hearts hungry for love,
and the like thinking of.
The distant longing
giving a sense of belonging
Hearts once filled with desire,
burning like fire.
Chilled by the distance,
reality abates attraction's existence
Feelings left sore,
loving no more
Soon interests fade,
following roles played
Hearts end up hurting,
simple relief averting.
How hard it is to take
the frequent heart break
Reality soon takes hold,
and often I've been told,
I'm here and you're there
which is so unfair
